Who am I?
I'm driven, persistent and passionate about journalism. (Perhaps a little sassy, too.)
For the past four years I've been working towards one goal: a successful career in broadcast journalism. After high school I moved away from my hometown of Troy, Michigan - away from my loved ones and comfort zone - to Chicago. I took the unconventional route for college and it's the best decision I've ever made.
I'm enrolled at Columbia College Chicago and will graduate in December 2014. Through securing internships, taking advantage of classroom opportunities and participating in extracurriculars, I've experienced more than the average journalism student. My college education has shaped me into a journalist that's ready to dive headfirst into a career.
Highlights of my resume include interning under the news planning editor at NBC 5 Chicago and investigative reporter Pam Zekman at CBS 2 Chicago, hosting a weekly segment for Columbia's student-run newscast, Metro Minutes, and freelance writing for CBS 62 Detroit.
